I was inspired to take this one as soon as I woke up this morning. Half this photo credit goes to Ben though, he came up with the shadow idea.
She lays down
Praying her eyes will shut.
A feeling in her gut
Tells her she’ll never sleep sound.
Dressed in the costume
She wore that night.
The memories loom
Her rest will always be slight.
The pills she has to take
Makes her slumber fake.
He haunts her dreams
So no one hears her silent screams.
Nightmares can be a constant reminder to survivors of sexual assault.
