Week 5: Sauvie’s Island

Better late than never! This post is from 4th of July weekend because that’s how far behind I am…

So, for the weekend of the 4th of July, boyfriend and I headed out to Sauvie’s Island. We usually go there because of the fabulous blueberry picking, but this time we adventured to the beaches (I had no idea they existed before). We had a little picnic and watched giant boats go by. The new Subie reached 1,000 miles, and I got to lay in the sand with no threat of tsunami. Overall, a pretty successful day trip.

Maybe it's a cruise ship? Sometimes I forgot Portland is actually a port...

We also ended up picking an entire flat of berries. And, if you know me and blueberries, not many of them were left for jam.

You are the only person on the planet who could go blueberry picking on a beautiful island and have to mention it was tsunami free 🙂
