About Project 52 (January 1 2012 — December 31st 2012)
After I finished my first project365, there was a lot I had learned about myself, photography and having a blog. I was afraid to commit to a second project365 because I was in the middle of my senior year of college and unsure where I would be. I continued to post photos whenever I had them, and it was nice to have a break. But, in late December 2011 I was inspired by this project365. I can’t commit to a project365 without overwhelming myself, but I’m doing a project52 (one photo per week). I’ll probably post more than that, but one photo per week is definitely going to happen. I’m going to be extremely busy, so if I don’t respond to comments on a regular basis, I’m sorry! I so appreciate any comments I get, and I do check out my readers’ blogs.
I accidentally started my first project365 (a photo project of posting photos every single day for 365 days). I started posting a daily photo for about a week, and then I stumbled upon the #project365 community on Twitter. At the time, I was going through a rough patch in my personal life and turned to my photos as a way of photo therapy. I think anyone who has a passion for capturing moments can relate. It kept me going and focused through some of the darkest days. I discovered a close knit community of fellow bloggers, and it gave me purpose to what I was doing. It was difficult and annoying for a lot of the days, but I am so glad I did it. I missed it so much when it was over.
My name is Whitney, and I’m a Senior at the University of Oregon. I’m a Public Relations major and minoring in Geography and Nonprofit Administration. I love to take pictures, and I want my photos to get out so more people can see them. If you like what you see and want to order prints, want to get in touch, want to use them somewhere, or anything else just send me an email, facebook comment, send me a tweet, or leave me a comment on the blog!
